M4 insert nuts, also known as microbarbs
They are used instead of lock nuts for example at Motor Mounts, Center Plates or Camera Gimbals.
The advance of this insert nuts, ist the useage of shorter screws, this save some weight.
For the M4 insert nut a tap hole of 6,35 mm is needed to fix the microbarb, offset is 3,0 mm. Regardless use of 3,0 mm material is no Problem.
If the material is thinner than 3,0 mm, grind off the mircobarb to the required size
